Taylor Wimpey

back to all projects

Taylor Wimpey, one of the UK’s largest residential developers, embarked on their bi-annual Business Strategy and Tactics Conference Roadshow earlier this year.

Our 3.9mm Absen A3 Pro LED was an obvious choice for the twin 4m X 2m screens given the proximity of the audience, and the high contrast ratio and resolution of the panels helped to give the content on screen a real impact.

As a result of a merger in 2007 with George Wimpey and Taylor Woodrow, the Taylor Wimpey heritage dates back more than 100 years with UK divisions in the North, Central & South West and London & South East along with operations in Spain.

Contrary to previous years, Taylor Wimpey’s historic production partners Octink contracted the expertise of the team at Music Plus Sport Live to produce the tour and bring a fresh approach to a show that needed to engage and invigorate attendees across the country.

Providing full service technical support for the tour, Blue-i Event Technology supplied video, lighting and sound along with set and stage and a team of technicians and engineers.

The two shows per day were heavily reliant on visual data and so the set was designed in conjunction with MPS Live to offer maximum viewing potential to the audience with a slick and contemporary feel. The set was built in our dedicated premises and sent out with a crew of set builders ensuring every panel looked fresh for each venue.

Our 3.9mm Absen A3 Pro LED was an obvious choice for the twin 4m X 2m screens given the proximity of the audience, and the high contrast ratio and resolution of the panels helped to give the content on screen a real impact.

Lighting design was provided by Mark “Bluey” Hardwidge incorporating a selection of static and moving fixtures on truss plinths and floor positions. The design was programmed in such a way as to be easily modified to the variety of rooms on the tour.

A distributed PA system comprising of D&B Q7 and E8 speaker cabinets delivered the show audio with Sennheiser radio beltpacks and DPA microphones on all presenters and control via one of our Yamaha LS9 digital consoles.

Presentations from the Taylor Wimpey personnel were slick and every show at sites across Birmingham, Ascot, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, Manchester and Newport benefitted from rock solid production despite a demanding schedule.

Congratulations to Octink and Music Plus Sport Live on an outstanding tour!
